We haven't stayed in a caravan before, and I'm not really a "camping" person, so we were pleasantly surprised by our caravan. The living room was clean and spacious with a new TV and a compact kitchen area equipped with everything you could possibly need, the bedrooms were a bit small, and there is a shower room with a separate toilet. The lady at check in was great, really friendly and welcoming and went through all the parks amenities. The pool area was lovely, the pool was warm and there were 2 brilliant life guards. There is a lovely little play park within the resort and a nice country walk and another park just outside the park. A definite highlight was the movie night where the entertainment team show a movie outdoors. The team set up hay bales and blankets so you can snuggle up and watch a kids film by the beach. Our only complaint was that the mattresses in our caravan weren't very comfortable, we could feel the springs so I used the spare duvet as a cover for the mattress which solved this issue. I passed this on at check out and they said they would deal with it. Mersea Island is a great location and this caravan park is great value for money, we will definitely go again
