Review

we stayed at Sandy Balls for February Half Term and had an amazing time. I was a little sceptical after reading some reviews, but shouldn't have been. The location was brilliant and easy to find. we stayed in a lodge with a hot tub which was brilliant. the living area was perfect for 5 of us and the kitchen had everything we needed. We ate out at both restaurants, both reasonably priced and good food. We did lots of activities; alpaca walk, nerf challenge, slime making, archery... we also enjoyed walks nearby and just relaxing and chilling out in the hot tub. Overall we all had an amazing time and can't wait to come back!

We visited Sandy Balls for a long weekend with our daughter ,son-in-law and two young granddaughters. We visited 3 years ago but this time we booked one of the new Zen lodges with a hot tub. It’s a very nice lodge ,well equipped, huge TV on the wall in the lounge and en-suite for each bedroom .The main bedroom is very spacious and beautifully decorated .The second has 2 single beds and a bunk bed over for a child. There is plenty of wardrobe and drawer space.
The best part for me was the towels which were a full bath size and there were plenty supplied ,along with toiletries and a welcome pack of tea ,coffee ,sugar and a bottle of Prosecco.
The hot tub was checked twice a day .All the lodges are situated amongst the trees and the gardens were full of snowdrops ,daffodils and many other spring flowers and plants .
There is plenty for children to do and the highlight for us was walking with the Alpacas. All the staff are friendly and helpful and with a well stocked shop and eating places where dogs are welcome, you can stay on sight with everything you need.We took our dog and there are many walks and fields for exercising .
We are looking forward to going again in the future .

Stayed in a comfort lodge for the last 3 days and have been blown away by how brilliant this place is. What makes it so great? Well the location for a start is stunning. The park itself is super clean and set in lovely forest land overlooking the River, a beautiful setting for dog walks. Bar, shop, restaurant, arcade all have wonderful staff and more importantly you get no sense of being ripped off which in my experience you do get with other holiday companies. Lodge itself was very pleasant. Big enough that my family of four were not stepping on each others toes. A kitchen area big enough to make fab family meals and a comfy sitting area to get warm and cosy in with a glass or two of red. Beds are comfy and had some great country night sleeps.

We did the Alpaca walk and I can honestly say I could not get the smile off of my face. The guide that came with us was brilliant. Happy, smiley, funny and informative and a natural way with the children who were taking the leads of the alpacas. All the children enjoyed but my 7 year old especially.

We also took part in the family Nerf gun challenge. Hilarious! So much muddy fun running around shooting fellow camp site guests and their kids. Same guide as the alpaca walk also made this brilliant, so special thanks for that (wish I had got your name!)

Had lovely swims in the indoor pool and enjoyed the hot tub. Finished each afternoon with a well deserved pint in thr lively dog friendly bar where once again the staff were lovely.
So we have just got home and immediately booked up again and now we cannot wait for October half term.
Away Resorts know what they are doing. We have stayed at Whitecliff Bay three times so we knew we were in for a treat. Sandy Balls is even better.
