Mersea Island Holiday Park Galllery

Review

The site is a peaceful place not very big. Ideal if you have a dog to walk as there’s a country park out the back by the pool and clubhouse. The pool is rather small and it’s a shame they do not do adults only swimming for an hour so you can swim because once the kids get in there’s no chance of having a swim. The changing rooms are ok but could do with locks on them so you can change in peace. There’s a little park behind the swimming pool for the kids which is ok. The clubhouse is basically a bar as they do not serve any food apart from bar snacks. There aren’t really arcades like other parks have. They have about 4 arcade machines. There is a nice local pub which serves amazing food and the prices are very reasonable for what you get. The portions are huge. Has a friendly warm atmosphere in there it’s about a 5 min walk from the site or a 2 min drive. The caravan we stayed in was nice and spacious and very clean. Would recommend if you want a nice chilled out break.

Visited once and found the place so lovely, bought a caravan there. It’s a great place, quiet, calming, beautifully situated and has its own beach. Nothing is too much trouble for the management team and the place is so well kept. It’s got all the amenities you could need and has the amazing Cutmore country park on the doorstep.

We stayed last week in October so park was quiet and just what we wanted. Staff were really friendly on arrival and the first impression of our luxury caravan was great. They provided complimentary toiletries and towels along with wine, lager and soft drinks, T bags, coffee, biscuits and milk! The caravan was a very good standard and even had bedside lamps in the main bedroom and was very well maintained. The tide did not prevent us from getting out and about and it was a good base for exploring the area and going for walks locally.

Very nice break , we arrived on Friday late evening and our caravan was left open for us, went to the Clubhouse for drinks and been welcomed by very friendly staff and "locals"(owners of the caravans) , place is very clean and kept tidy. Trip to West Mersea for crabbing is a must if you travelling with kids! Will be back there soon!
